The war continues. And since the first days of the war, I have been saying that psychologists are at the forefront of the nation's psychological health. It depends on you what Ukraine will be like. Because you, despite the fact that you are also in these terrible conditions, must endure and save the health of Ukrainians. You have a very big responsibility. And this forum was created to support you, to give you tools, to hug you and to realize that together we can do it.

I am very touched by the opportunity to be in your country and to experience this situation up close. I see the suffering. And I see that you are facing deaths in your families and among your loved ones. I am glad that I can make a contribution. There are dozens of grief interventions. Some of them are universal, pan-cultural. They can be used in any country in the world. And some of them are particularly good and suitable for Ukraine.

Our society is currently experiencing a turning point when talking about your problems, your grief and misfortune should not be shameful or inaccessible. The culture of psychological therapy should be accessible and make it clear that you are not alone with your grief.

I would like to acknowledge the psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers in Ukraine. Because thanks to you and your work, the impact of the war will be reduced, it will be weakened. The work you are doing is extremely important. It is crucial.

The problem we're discussing during the war is the problem of loss. We often look at this problem through the prism of grief because someone has died. But we often forget about people who have gone missing. And this is an unambiguous loss. With an ambiguous loss, there's no farewell and no body. Therefore, there's an urgent need for informational, practical, and emotional support for relatives of the missing. And such support must be available throughout the entire period of searching for the missing person.

The war in Ukraine presents society with many challenges. One of them is the rehabilitation of our servicemen, specifically with the aim of preserving their mental health. Many questions have arisen that we are forced to address. How do we provide help to someone who has experienced war? What do we actually know about war?

What we will be looking at is the psychological impact of religion on a person. In Ukraine, religious issues remain at a fairly significant level. The significance of religion has even grown since the start of the full-scale invasion. If we talk about religion at the moment of loss, first and foremost, it allows people to continue loving.
