The III International Forum "Grief Therapy. Psychological Health as the Foundation of Ukraine's Future" is a unique professional event that plays an important role in the current Ukrainian reality, uniting global and national experience in studying the psychology of grief and drawing attention to the problems of the nation's psychological health.

To provide an opportunity for specialists from Ukraine and other countries worldwide to exchange knowledge, experience, new approaches, and best practices in the field of grief therapy and the mental health of society.

To create and develop an extensive professional network of like-minded colleagues interested in studying, researching, and popularizing the topic of psychological health in the context of numerous war-related losses.

To establish a professional dialogue between those who possess unique knowledge and experience and those who directly work with people experiencing loss and require new knowledge and professional tools.

To draw attention to the issue of standardizing education in the topic of grief and loss, considering the growing demand for specialists working with bereaved individuals.

To update and expand the professional toolkit of psychologists who face the consequences of losses caused by military actions and other crisis events.

To unite the professional community and consolidate efforts around the idea of providing qualified psychological assistance to people facing various types of losses against the backdrop of war.

The Forum is an opportunity to deepen professional knowledge and skills, find new meanings, and receive a professional boost and support for all those who daily stand guard over the psychological health of our fellow citizens and help them overcome difficult life circumstances in the context of war and numerous losses.
Participation in the “live” conference will enable practicing psychologists in Ukraine to join the current global experience and effective approaches in working with the topic of grief and preserving the psychological health of Ukrainians while experiencing losses and trauma of war.

Volodymyr Medvediev
Professor of the Department of Legal Psychology at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, Doctor of Psychological Sciences. Developer of the legal-psychological concept of professional deformation of law enforcement officers, the concept of professional-psychological training of law enforcement personnel, and the fundamentals of the psychological theory of criminal activity.
V.S. Medvediev is a member of several specialized academic councils, including being a permanent member since its founding (1998) of the first specialized academic council on legal psychology at the National Academy of Internal Affairs, and a member of the coordinating council of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine in psychological and pedagogical sciences. He is also a member of the editorial board of the bulletin “Legal Psychology.” His main directions of scientific research include the psychology of criminality, historiography of domestic legal psychology, and the psychology of law enforcement subjects.

Valérie Rosoux
Director of Research at the Belgian Foundation for Scientific Research (FNRS)
She teaches International Negotiation, Politics of Memory, and Transitional Justice at UCLouvain (Belgium). She has a Licence in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Political Sciences. She is a member of the Belgian Royal Academy. Since 2021, she is a Max Planck Law Fellow.

Andreas Maercker
PhD, MD University of Zurich, Switzerland Dept. of Psychology
MD, completed his medical and psychological education in Halle/Saale and Berlin in Germany. After academic positions in Berlin, Dresden San Francisco and Trier, he was appointed 2005 as chair and full professor of Psychopathology and Clinical Intervention at the University of Zurich. He is co-director of the Institute’s outpatient clinic services. Professor Maercker is or has been principal and co-investigator in numerous national and international studies in traumatic stress research, clinical geropsychology, and internet-assisted mental health and has published more than 200 peer review articles. From 2011-2018 he chaired a work group at WHO for revising the International Classification of Diseases in the area of trauma- and stress-related disorders, including grief. From 2017 he chairs the Historical Commission of the German Psychological Society on Stasi psychology in the former East Germany. He authored or edited 14 scientific or therapeutic books. Keywords characterizing the expertise: PTSD, stress-response syndromes, lifespan developmental psychopathology, treatment, e-mental health. In 2017, he was awarded the highest order in Germany, the Federal Cross of Merit, as well as the Wolter de Loos Award for Distinguished Contribution to Psychotraumatology in Europe from the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies for his scientific work.

How to check the status of my registration?
After completing the registration process on the Forum website 2025 a confirming message will be sent to email address that you specified informing you that the registration was successful. This email will contain all the necessary information regarding your participation in the Forum, as well as your unique registration ID. Please check the Spam folder if you cannot find the email in your main folder.
Will there be an opportunity to personally ask a question to the speaker or join the discussion?
You will have the opportunity to ask questions on the topic of the speaker's speech at the end of his lecture or master class, if there is enough time for a live discussion, according to the schedule and program of the Forum.
Will I be able to share my impressions and communicate with other Forum participants??
We have provided the creation of a common Forum Chat 2025, where you can meet other participants, share your thoughts and insights. Moreover, in the Forum Chat you will be informed about the beginning of speeches, changes in the schedule and the program of the Forum.
Will the Forum materials be available to all participants?
Each participant who has registered for the Forum 2025 in online or offline format will get an access to the full set of the video materials, which will include recordings of all performances, lectures and master classes. Important: The access to the materials of the Forum will be provided for a limited period of time after its completion because of the need to edit and process the footage.
What to do if the payment for registration on the Forum has not been proceeded?
If your payment was not successful, usually the problem is insufficient funds on the account, limits on card payments on the Internet and other restrictions of the bank or payment system. You can write to us using the feedback form to get confirmation that that payment has not been proceeded. During the next attempt to pay for participation in the Forum or the cost of a set of video materials, make sure that you are not paying for second time.
How will I get an access to the conference if I take part in the Forum in an online format?
In the Chat of the Forum 2025, to which we add all the participants by phone number that was specified during registration, we will send a link to online streaming. Follow the messages in Chat to be able to join in time to events and Forum activities and listen to expert speeches in real time.
How do foreign speakers perform?
We made sure that all participants of the Forum could deeply immerse themselves into the topic of the speech no matter what language the guest speaks. Speeches of foreign speakers are accompanied by simultaneous translation for both participants online and offline. You will be able to listen to lectures, speeches and presentations from leading experts on the topic of grief and loss in both Ukrainian and English.
What is required to receive a certificate?
All participants who successfully register will receive a certificate from the International Association of Psychologists for Grief and Bereavement Work for participation in the 2025 Forum. Important! To receive the certificate, be sure to indicate your last name and first name in Ukrainian during registration, as well as a correct email address. If incorrect data is provided, we will not be able to issue and send you the certificate of participation in the 2025 Forum.
